ABOUT

BECAUSE I LIKE NICE THINGS

One day a friend of mine sent me a message encouraging (almost directing me!)  to do something about my love for cooking, addiction to travel and penchant for the nice things in life. He called it his gift to me. I might have preferred a gift that I could touch and feel had I not been alive to the potential happiness that I could bring to others by sharing my life, experiences and stories.

My friend’s message jolted me into finally bringing to life something I’d been thinking about for some time, something that had been suggested to me by many others before him including my sister and hubby.

This is a story about my world and everything that makes it go ‘round. I’m passionate about life and living it to the fullest. Whether its travelling and meeting people, developing recipes and hosting dinner parties or finding pieces of furniture that turn a house into a home, I want it all! And most importantly, I want to share it with you.

Because I like nice things is about exploring what the world has to offer us and finding what we ourselves can pay forward to others. It’s about the many different ways I experience life and how I show up

in the spaces I move in.

I hope through our interaction I can inspire you, bring you joy and encourage you to step outside of your comfort zone into the unknown. You can expect to find a lots of different gems on this blog. It’s eclectic, maybe a bit chaotic, but certainly inspiring and thought-provoking. It’s real and true to who I am and who many of us are - lovers of life, imperfect, flawed, messy, beautiful and persevering.

What I really want you to do is to pick the parts of this blog that make sense to your existence. I invite you to replicate what you see, adapt, or to merely use me as inspiration on your journey of life. Most importantly, I want you to remember to live your truth as I do mine, do what you love and share it with the world because we’re all in dire need of joy, positivity and maybe a few giggles.
